FAMILY ADVOCACY

Listen to Audio
My goal is to help families, first and foremost, understand their rights. Navigating the special education process can feel both relieving and overwhelming – especially for those experiencing it for the first time. I support families by explaining psychological and educational evaluation results, IEPs, and behavioral intervention plans in clear accessible language.
I also help families understand their options if they believe a student’s needs are not being adequately met in the classroom. In addition, I guide families through special education laws and state policies including required procedures and timelines for information sharing, and next steps related to their child.
Finally, I support individuals with disabilities in understanding their rights as they prepare to transition out of the secondary school setting.
