Deep understanding of state and federal laws governing persons with disabilities
From an early age, I was exposed to the idea that people are born with different abilities and, as a result, have different needs. These experiences shaped my core values and solidified my commitment to a lifelong vocation of supporting neurodiverse populations in a variety of settings.
My favorite environment in which to teach is outdoors, where the subtle influences of the natural world help students become more regulated and, in turn, more available for learning. Developing skills in self-regulation, self-advocacy, and self-connection are essential for people of all abilities, across all environments.
I believe that everyone, regardless of individual challenges, deserves the opportunity not only to thrive, but to genuinely enjoy their lives.
